The San Juan School District is implementing new graduation requirements, starting with next year’s 9^th graders. This change may necessitate a change in Rio’s daily schedule. These changes could have major implications for Rio Band. Rio will be holding a public forum on Wednesday, October 3^rd at 6 pm in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). We are asking as many band parents and students as possible to attend this meeting. If you speak or ask questions, please identify yourself as a band parent or student.

The Rio ‘tRio’ consisting of Jake Nalangan (piano), Maddy Hill (bass) and Joseph Bly (drums) was named the top small jazz group in the nation by DownBeat Magazine last year. This week they were featured on Capital Public Radio, with Gary Vercelli and Rio alum Devan Kortan.
