Rio Band Families,
A few items to pass on to all-
- Our AM Jazz Ensemble will put on a concert, featuring the group’s seniors on Monday May 23rd at 7pm. Location at Rio TBA. All are invited.
- We will begin moving out of the band room and into portables on Monday, May 2nd. All personal belongings must be removed from the band room by next Friday.
- From Keri Telander, parent in charge of Spring Concert details: In order for our Spring Concert to be a success we need parents to volunteer for a shift to help supervise the band rooms/ sell t-shirts and band bears. Please use the following link to sign up to volunteer for a 30 min. shift. Please sign up ASAP as the concert is coming up very soon.

- From Brian Augusta, parent historian: I am hoping to get band pictures together to give to the seniors – if you have any pictures from band events from the year (or past years, if you think this year’s seniors are in them!) please let me know so I can arrange to get copies from you. Rio Band Families,
Our Spring Concert will be held next week, on Friday, April 29th. All of our Concert and Jazz bands will perform, followed by an All-Play and awards. Here’s the pertinent information:
All performances will be in the Rio Cafeteria.
Performance dress is casual. Band shirts, hawaiian shirts, sundresses, etc.
The Chando’s Tacos food truck (yum!) will be here from 5:30 to 8:30. Dinner will be provided (courtesy of RABB) for all band students.
Other attendees are welcome to order food from the truck.
During the performances we will be handing out awards, voted on by the members of the bands. During the All-Play (mandatory for all band students), we will honor each of our seniors, and give out program-wide awards.
Here’s the basic schedule-
Please keep in mind that any performances may begin up to 15 minutes early or late, so please plan accordingly.
5:30- Jazz Workshop
6:00- FM Jazz Ensemble
6:30- PM Jazz Ensemble
7:00- AM Jazz Ensemble
7:30- Intermediate Concert Band
8:00- Advanced Concert Band
8:30- Honors Concert Band
9:00- All-Play
We should be done by 10pm. All students will be expected to help clean up and move equipment before leaving.
It’s sure to be another fantastic Rio band event. See you all there!
