The Arden/Rio Dinner Dance is March 5th and we are looking for parent volunteers to sign up for different shifts to help out. We need everything from decorating and setup, to bartending, to chaperoning our amazing band students in the band room at the event. Also tickets continue to go fast for both whole tables and individual seating so get your ticket soon.
Rio Band Families,
In addition to the Winter Concert (2/9), Smamble Night (2/10) and the Mingus Combo heading to NYC on 2/11, we have two very important events coming up soon in Rio Band.
1. Wednesday, March 2nd from 6-8:30pm. “Say Goodbye to the Band Room” party and open house. This will be one last event to celebrate the 50 year history of our beloved band room, before we move out the following week, and demolition begins soon after. There will be live music from current and former Rio students, and more nostalgia than you can shake a clarinet at! I have attached a flyer for the event. EVERYONE is invited- students, parents, family, alumni, friends, community members, local residents. Please spread the word, and join us.
2. Saturday, March 5th, at 6pm- Dinner Dance! This amazing event showcases the fantastic jazz bands from Rio and Arden, is a major fundraiser benefitting every band student at both schools, and is guaranteed to be a blast. The event will almost certainly sell out, so get your tickets while you still can.

The Winter Concert will be next Tuesday, 2/9 at 7pm in the Betty Miller Theater, located next to senior lawn at Rio.
Students should arrive by 6:30 for warmups, in the band room.
The dress code is formal- suit and tie for boys (don’t forget dress shoes and socks), and nice dress or suit for girls.
The order of performance will be ICB, ACB, HCB and the show should be over by 8:30pm.
