Rio Band Families,

Before the Thanksgiving break, Lifetouch took professional photographs of all of our bands, as well as the Japan Trip Concert and Jazz Bands, and a mass photo of all band students. These photos are available for purchase through Lifetouch. I’ll send home order forms this week. 

The orders (with all checks made out to LIFETOUCH) will be due no later than next Thursday, December 10th.

If ordering pictures, you must follow these directions exactly, to ensure that you get the correct photos- 

On the order form, beneath where it says “All Band Group” and “$13.00,” please write in the name of the group photo(s) you would like to order, using this exact wording:

Rio Band Families,

Here’s the latest-

Congratulations to the Rio Band students who were selected to take part in the American River College Honor Band, taking place this Friday and Saturday- Neta Galili, Natalie Kowalski, Julianna McMorris, Hannah Thompson, Hunter Middlekauff, Jon Crawford, Alta Rose Mullen, Jonathan Stacy, Antonio Lopes and Hayden Powell. Way to go!

We have two Guest Artists joining us this week-

Rio Band Families,

A few items to share:

1. Our next Small Ensemble Night will be this Wednesday, 11/18 at 7pm in the band room. Come on out!
2. This Thursday, 11/19 will be band picture day. We’ll take group pictures for the yearbook, and they may be made available for purchase by families. More info when I have it.
3. Mr Kiesner and I are members of the Sacramento Jazz Orchestra (SJO), which has many of the area’s finest Jazz musicians. We have two gigs coming up that some of you may be interested in attending. This Sunday we’ll be performing a set of all original music at CSUS, as part of the Festival of New American Music. The free show will be at noon in the CSUS Recital Hall. On Monday, 11/30 SJO will be playing Yoshi’s Jazz Club, at Jack London Square in Oakland. Show time is 8pm, and tickets are available at yoshis.com
