Folsom Jazz Festival Schedule

There are TWO locations for this festival. Folsom High School (NOT Harris Center) and Rolling Hills Christian Church in El Dorado Hills.
 Attached is the complete schedule, as well as the Directors’ packet, which provides maps, festival information and answers to just about every question. 

Please note that there is an entrance fee for non-performers and they are not having food vendors at Rolling Hill’s this year.

FM- Folsom High School. warmup 8am in Staff Lounge. Perform 8:25 in Band Room. Clinic 8:50 in MU 101
PM – Folsom HS. Warmup 10:05 in Student Gov room. Perform 10:30 in Multipurpose room. Clinic 10:55 in Side Room
Combo 2 (personnel TBD) @ Rolling Hills Christian Church. Warmup 12:50 room 5. Perform 1:15 room 3. No clinic
AM- Rolling Hills Christian Church. Warmup 2:30 in Gathering Room. Perform 2:55 Auditorium. Clinic 3:20 Room B.
Combo 1 (personnel TBD) @ RHCC. Warmup 3:45 room 5. Perform 4:10 room 3. No clinic

There are some fantastic clinics and performances throughout the day. Students should make every effort to see them. Also, please make an effort to support all of the Rio groups by attending their performances.

Bands warm up, perform and then receive a clinic. Families are welcome to attend the clinics.

Jazz Workshop- warmup 5pm in C10. Perform 5:30 in Theater. Clinic 6pm in M1 with Steve Roach

FM- warmup 6:30 in A2. Perform 7pm in Cafeteria. Clinic 7:30 in M2 with Patrick Langham

PM- warmup 6:30 in C10. Perform 7pm in Theater. Clinic 7:30 in M1 with Levi Saelua

Further Congratulations to Rio’s Musicians!

January 7, 2014

1. For the 5th year in a row, a Rio group has been selected as one of four national finalists in the Charles Mingus Festival, to be held at NYC’s Manhattan School of Music in February. Congratulations to- Lucas Bere, Mikey Escobar, Andrew Stephens, Jeric Rocamora, Josh Kravitz, Devan Kortan, Emma Hollis and Jacob Swedlow.
2. Kimberly Dunning (clarinet) and Emily Dunning (bassoon) have both been selected for the All-Northern California Honor Band.
3. Lucas Bere has been selected as 1st tenor saxophone in the All-State Jazz Band.
