1. For the 5th year in a row, a Rio group has been selected as one of four national finalists in the Charles Mingus Festival, to be held at NYC’s Manhattan School of Music in February. Congratulations to- Lucas Bere, Mikey Escobar, Andrew Stephens, Jeric Rocamora, Josh Kravitz, Devan Kortan, Emma Hollis and Jacob Swedlow.
2. Kimberly Dunning (clarinet) and Emily Dunning (bassoon) have both been selected for the All-Northern California Honor Band.
3. Lucas Bere has been selected as 1st tenor saxophone in the All-State Jazz Band.
Help us congratulate the Mingus Combo for being accepted into the Charles Mingus competition in New York, Feb. 14-17! Strong work!

7pm- Sacramento Jazz Orchestra (including Mr. Murray and Mr. Kiesner) w/ vocalist Jamie Davis
Admission to the festival is $10. Performers will be given a wristband for entrance next week.
If possible, please have students support other Rio groups with their presence.
Dress code is semi-formal. Suits/ties for boys. Dresses, skirts and blouses or classy equivalent for girls. Look sharp!
