On Thursday, December 5th the Wee Trio will visit Rio. They joined us for a clinic last year, and they were among the best guest artists we have ever had. This time around, they will provide a clinic and perform for our students during the school day, and we will present a concert featuring the Wee Trio and our AM Jazz Ensemble that night, at 7pm in the band room. The members of the trio have written big band charts, and they will perform them in world premieres with our students. It is sure to be an amazing night of music, so plan to join us. It’s free! There will be a fundraiser for the upcoming Italy trip at Farrell’s on Monday, December 9th. I have attached an informational flyer. Bring it with you and present it when you order dinner and/or dessert. A portion of the proceeds will help support Rio Band’s trip to Italy this summer. Modern Music Society is a college jazz big band at International Christian University, also known as ICU, based in Tokyo, Japan. ICU, founded in 1956, was established as the first liberal arts college in Japan offering fully bilingual education in Japanese and English.
