  The San Juan School District is implementing new graduation requirements, starting with next year’s 9th graders. This change may necessitate a change in Rio’s daily schedule. The Rio ‘tRio’ consisting of Jake Nalangan (piano), Maddy Hill (bass) and Joseph Bly (drums) was named the top small jazz group in the nation by DownBeat Magazine last year. This week they were featured on Capital Public Radio, with Gary Vercelli and Rio alum Devan Kortan.
