On Wednesday, October 9th we will put on our first ever “Pops in the Quad” concert, outdoors in the Rio Americano Quad, featuring our 3 fabulous Concert Bands. I’ve attached an informational flyer. The concert will begin at 6:30pm with our Intermediate Concert Band, followed by Advanced Concert Band and finally Honors Concert Band. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the Rio cafeteria. The show should be over by 8:30, and we ask that all students be present to watch and support the other bands throughout the concert.
The repertoire for this concert will be entirely Popular music, with selections from various films and Broadway shows, as well as Rock & Roll classics and other surprises.
There will be some overhead lighting for the concert, but students may want to purchase and bring battery operated stand lights, to be sure their music is visible. The best brand for music is “Mighty Bright”. Here’s a link to the one that I use-Mighty Bright Duet Music Light
The concert will be held outdoors, and will be an informal, picnic-like event for the whole family. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, as there will not be seating provided.
Food will be available from Panda Express, and proceeds will benefit RABB. For just $6, you’ll get a Stir-fry Chicken, Orange Chicken, or Beef with Broccoli Panda Bowl, and a bottle of water. Such a deal! Desserts will also be available. Or you can bring a picnic from home.
